Weirdness, rape, and destruction.
This was easily the weirdest and most memorable movie in the Bruce Campbell horror film festival (2015). Get ready for a lot of weird and borderline nonsensical set-up to have a group of Fins and Brits spending the night in a cabin in the woods during winter. Then suddenly, Bunny the killer thing (nothing more complex than a man in a furry suit) comes in, helicopter-swinging his enormous penis around yelling "PUSSY!". The then proceeds to rape (and murder by raping) several people. The wild and trippy ride concludes with 2 cases of homosexual unrequited love, a kidnapped Swedish pop star, and a room full of humping furries. It won't become your favorite movie unless you are on a lot of drugs. But, you will never forget... "PUSSY!!!"
stupidity and gore
Have seen the short on which this is based this doesn't add an extra to the short. The effects for the raving bunny are ridiculous funny and cheaply done but it's what the bunny does that is delivering the gory parts. And those are well done. If you can't stand stupid flicks then this isn't your thing but if you dig stupidity with a gory sausage then it's worth seeing, only it's hard to find this one. Only shown at conventions so far. Funny situations and a stupid killer only tricked to kill when he sees pussy. Some nudity here and there. Overall well shot and edited. If you have the change to see it, do so. Some parts are just on the edge of boredom, others do deliver the stuff, and what about the ending, hilarious Gore 3/5 Nudity 1,5/5 Effects 3/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 1/5
Bunny Boners Galore
A man gets injected with an experimental serum that slowly transforms him into a bunny man with a huge prosthetic bunny boner. A group of young adults get stuck out in a cabin where the bunny dude just so happens to be running around rabid and raping. This one is mostly in Finnish with some Swedish here and there. Some English is in there as well so you will have to read the rest. Most of the violence is over the top like most gun shots to the head usually blow it right off. Dark humour is thrown in as well for good measure. They went all out for creature effects and just threw some guy in a rabbit costume but they did do some pretty cool eye gouging scenes.
Weird bunny
Regarding 'Bunny the Killer Thing', that it was low-budget, which from frequent personal experience is rarely a good sign due to that there are so many poor ones out there (though there are decent to good ones as well), made me apprehensive. Did like the idea though somewhat, though it was one that would go either way in execution (creepy or camp) and the cover gave the impression it would be fun and creepy if also silly. 'Bunny the Killer Thing' was one weird film and for me it was a difficult one to rate and review because my feelings on it were so conflicted and the film was so strange. Is it a good film? Not really. Is it terrible? Didn't think so. Does it intrigue somewhat? Yes. Does it scare? Sometimes. Does it entertain? Guess so. Are there worse films out there? Absolutely yes, far worse, as well as much better. It is atmospherically shot and the sound isn't too obvious or intrusive. The actors knew what sort of film they were in and give better than expected performances, not amazing but serviceable. The titular character is much creepier than it sounds on paper and has a personality. There is some amusing dark humour and there are moments that are suspenseful and creepy. Admittedly though, the effects are ropy and the bunny looks ridiculously cheap. The violence tends to be overdone and at times gratuitous. Not all the humour works, some of it is out of place and parts are not as tasteful as they could. If anybody at all takes issue with a serious subject like rape being poked fun at that is understandable, it was below the belt. While the story was far from a dull one and had enough good moments of unsettlement and suspense, this wasn't sustained all the way through, too many parts are just stupid beyond belief and things can get chaotic and all-over-the-place that it can affect the coherence. A lot of elements are thrown and it all feels at the end of the day too much, some of it was not necessary and again bad taste appears (the nudity etc. was overused to vulgar degrees). The characters are sketchy and some of their decisions are bizarre and don't make sense. Overall, a very weird film and it was difficult what to make out of it. There were things that to me did come over reasonably but this is not a film that will attract wide audiences or be watched over and over again and may alienate many. 5/10 Bethany Cox
So there is two of you, then.
A scientist experiments on a captured human and turns him into a man with a bad rabbit costume with a long fake appendage that needs constant satisfying as he runs around yelling something that sounds guttural like Russy. There is a group of people in a cabin, most of which we don't know that well and can die. The production does set up the final girl in what can be described as a campy gore-fest with a cult following. Clearly this film isn't for everyone. The humor is overly adolescent if not stupid, but that is by design as it makes fun of horror slashers which are adolescent if not stupid. If you can laugh at a man in a rabbit costume sticking his appendage into a bloody eye socket while yelling "Russy!" this is your kind of film...sorry for that plot spoiler. The film is about 75% English and the rest in Finnish. Guide: F-word, sex, rape, nudity (real-Enni Ojutkangas + fake)
