Terrible Movie
The movie might have been good except for: bad acting (like kids in a high school play); terrible overused theme (evil white man oppressing the noble red man); people in 1933 dressed in todays clothing; unbelievable story Don't waste your time watching. The only reason I spent an hour and a half watching this piece of crap was I was half drunk. Even being drunk could not make watching this horrible movie half way enjoyable. I really want to know who wastes their money to have a movie this bad made? Do not rent, do not buy and especially do not waste your time watching. Of course if you drink 2 bottles of wine instead of 1 bottle like I did before watching this it might be almost enjoyable.
Terrible
Totally agree with the other critic. Not worth the trouble of renting and no amount of alcohol could make it watchable. The director and actors should reconsider their vocations because making movies is certainly not their go. Maybe if they had repackaged this tripe as a black comedy then maybe it would get a star. I love a good western and unfortunately there are fewer these days, which is a shame especially when ones like this rear their ugly heads. The fight scenes were laughable and the story line was totally clichéd so in closing I would like to reiterate, don't even bother with this one.
Watch this if you want to torture yourself
Where do I begin my critical analysis of this piece of beetle dung of a movie? One of the critics said the acting was one the level of a junior high school play, however, I think that is overly generous. The lines were delivered in a stiff and staccato measure as to lead me to believe they were reading them off of cue cards without rehearsal. The audio portion of the film must have used a mini-cassette tape recorder, and only one at that. And speaking of sound effects, what were they firing in those weapons, caps? The racist plot has indeed been way, way, way overdone. It is time to stick a fork in it. And the hairstyles in 1937? No man had hair like that back then. As for the gunfight at the end, my dear lord could it be more cliché'? Just grab an ending off of the shelf of standard Hollywood endings. This "western drama" was neither. It was a pathetic Hollywood comedy which was not really fun.
Could not get past the first 10 minutes
If you want to watch 0 star western, this is what you are looking for. Acting is absolutely horrible. I stopped it at 10 minutes. It was that poor. Maybe the only redeeming thing would be some of the scenery and some nice horses. This would be a fun movie to turn down the sound and make up your own lines. This is something a college film student could churn out in a few hours. Clothing was not correct, saddles and equipment was not correct......there was not a lot of thought that went into this movie. Budget was probably very thin. You would be way better off downloading a great old Randolph Scott movie to get you western fix. As other reviewers eluded to, you will never get back these minutes in your life, so stay away and watch something worthwhile.
