Tackling the Muslim issue..
This movie is one of the landmarks of Telugu cinema. Krishna Vamsi, as always, should be lauded for trying something different, yet keeping it within commercial levels. Sri Kanth really shines in his role in this movie as a mourning lover looking for revenge, after Sonali Bendre, his to be gets killed in a shootout with Muslim Pro-Pakistani insurgents funded by the ISI. Ravi Teja and Prakash Raj are friends who are Hindu and Muslim, respectively. Ravi Teja is an aspiring actor and Prakash Raj is an auto driver. As usual Prakash Raj goes a little overboard, but its still fun to watch and he is definitely a convincing actor. His Hyderabadi accent is on par. Kim Sharma plays a girl who falls in love with Sri Kanth,in a wasted and forgettable role. The only actresses that are worthy are Sanghavi who plays Ravi Teja's love interest who, unfortunately, has to fall to the casting couch and Sonali Bendre, who's cameo is unforgettable. Nuvvu Nuvvu song is one of the favourites of mine. Krishna Vamsi has to be praised for bringing that realism to screen, as he portrays what is echoed by most Indians about Muslims onto the screen with such convincing tone as well as poking fun at Tollywood. This movie plays out in part a Soap Opera (as is true w/ all Indian movies) and in part an action movie by way of the revenge genre. Its an interesting twist about Shafi, the character who kills Sonali Bendre. The performances are commendable, the music is pass worthy, except 2 notable songs and the story and direction is gripping. Definitey a pleasure to watch. in case you can't tell, i gave it an 8/10.
