The BBQ (2018) Reviews
Light Australia
This is just a light hearted feel good Australian film, and it succeeds in that genre. Don't expect anything more and just treat the movie for what it is. Australian movies have a particular style and content. So I'm sorry to say that if you don't understand it or are not Australian you just won't get it.
Get your meat on!
WARNING do not watch this movie on a empty stomach as it features a lot and i mean a lot of mouth watering BBQ food. This was a great Aussie family movie, with some cheap laughs, some great education on Captain Cook history, how Wagyu beef is prepared and how to cook a bloody good steak, Shane Jacobson plays the typical Dad role well- and with such an Aussie name (Dazza), he works at the local barbecue galore and is asked to represent the company at the big Aussie BBQ cook off while his wife (who wears the same dress everyday) works at the local IGA. If there was ever an Aussie movie to send overseas to promote us in a good way this would be it. Seeing Manu Feildel (dazzas rival) just gets my excited for the up coming series of MKR. So Manu the score im giving you for your movie is......a 5!
Feel Good Aussie Movie
The BBQ Is this a good movie? Not a chance. Did I enjoy this movie? Bloody Oath I did. It's a redemption story. Daz who poisons the neighbourhood has to redeem himself and win his family back along the way. Full of puns, corny jokes and bad accents. 6.5/10 #NicksMiniReview
Fun and Entertaining
The BBQ offers a great laugh and escape into a nice little story. It was nice to take my nephew to a film that didn't involve sex violence or swearing. Unlike a couple of narcissistic egotistical moronic critics who obviously missed the point - this film does not take its self seriously it provides a great 90 minutes of fun and escapism.
Easy going Aussie family entertainment
I honestly don't know why this movie has a low rating and negative reviews, this film is simply an easy comedy for the family to enjoy. Shane, Madga, Manu and always wonderful Julia Zemiro are very good in this film. I love that delclaimer at the end having a crack on people who illegally download their films...BRAVO! Highly recommended
